Following over a decade of successful shows attended by thousands of motoring enthusiasts each year, Mark Woodward Classic Events are passing on ownership of their classic and performance motor shows to a new but familiar face, who will relaunch under the brand Great British Motor Shows Ltd.
Steve Bishop, Founder of Great British Motor Shows Ltd will take on the planning and execution of all of the shows that were previously run by Mark. The acquisition comes as the previous owners take a step back from the business. Steve has been working with the previous owners for over a decade supporting the shows, and saw the opportunity to take a successful set of events and build on the solid foundation already in place. Under the new Great British Motor Shows brand the events will be able to evolve with the changing needs of exhibitors and visitors, whilst maintaining all the core aspects that create the unique days out that draw fans and enthusiasts back year after year.
Launching the new season ticket and booking sales online, Steve Bishop said:
“As we launch the 2022 shows under the new Great British Motor Shows brand it is our intention to keep the essence and quality of the shows the same. For over ten years I have worked on these events and seen what makes them great – we won’t be changing that. However, with the new energy new ownership brings we have the opportunity to build on that success. It’s exciting to be at the heart of this business as it comes of age and looks ahead to a new era and looking forward to working with the clubs, owners and venues to bring and enhance the shows for tomorrow’s visitors.”
Great British Motor Shows will run events across the North throughout 2022 and beyond, in Lancashire, Yorkshire, Northumberland and Cumbria. Venues include historic houses and castles such as Ripley Castle, Ripon Racecourse, Corbridge, Hutton-in-the-Forest in the Lake District, Leighton Hall, Hoghton Tower, Lytham Hall as the favourites of the years.
There is also an exciting new launch to our schedule as we go into 2022, Wentworth Woodhouse will be making a return to the motor show world in July.
If you’re a club, private owner of a classic collectable, modern or any age supercar or modified car, classic or modified motorbike or classic commercial then you’ll be welcome to attend any of the shows. Pre-booking is required for clubs and commercials. Please see the events page for more details.
