Classic entries open for Gulf Historic Dubai

todayOctober 9, 2023

Background

The upcoming Gulf Historic Dubai GP Revival is set to be even more exciting with the addition of a new category known as ‘Dubai Classics’. This section will showcase 30 exceptionally rare and distinctive classic cars from the city. All of these cars must be registered as classics and will be showcased in the paddock before hitting the track for a 20-minute open pitlane session each day throughout the event. In addition, participants from the prestigious 1000 Miglia Experience UAE rally can also join in on the Revival, as long as they have an eligible vehicle to compete with. This makes for a truly unforgettable week of automotive bliss.

Featuring a lineup of renowned Formula One and sports cars, the event has already secured a number of iconic vehicles. Additionally, the new category will allow classic enthusiasts to admire both stunning road cars and historic racing models up close.

Registration grants access to all three days of the event for those with qualifying vehicles. Cars must remain on display from Thursday 7 – Sunday 10 December, allowing fans plenty of chances to admire some of Dubai’s most unique and prized vintage cars.

Only 30 spots are up for grabs in the prestigious Dubai Classics category, so space is limited. The registration fee for each car is AED 1,000 and an extra AED 200 will be charged for any passengers over 16 years old. Make sure to have all necessary documents such as car registration papers, a driver’s license photo, and a photo of your vehicle ready for submission.

These vintage cars will serve as a focal point for an exciting race weekend that will cater to fans of both traditional and modern motorsport. Attendees can expect an immersive event that will transport them back in time to an era of unparalleled elegance and sophistication. The paddock will also be filled with lively music, reminiscent of the bustling atmosphere found at grand prix events from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s.

The Dubai Classics category offers Gulf Historic participants a chance to enjoy the best of both worlds, on both the road and the track.

Pierre-Brice Mena, Managing Director of GP Extreme, said: â€œOur event is a true celebration of the golden age of motorsport, encapsulating the most tangible elements of what made it so attractive and alluring. The addition of the Dubai Classics category supports this, giving local classic car owners a unique opportunity to showcase their vehicles to thousands of passionate fans.

The Dubai Classics category presents an unforgettable opportunity for motorsport enthusiasts and petrolheads alike to experience the mesmerizing allure of classic cars. Witness these beautifully designed and finely crafted machines up close and in action on the track during a dynamic demonstration run.

The Gulf Historic journey

Gulf Historic is a subsidiary of GP Extreme, a motorsports organization established in Dubai in 2015. After two years, GP Extreme brought their fleet of historical Formula One cars to the Yas Marina Circuit, which sparked the inception of Gulf Historic. This event embodies the essence of motorsports, showcasing some of the most legendary and iconic vehicles.
